Aussie Broadband has today announced the appointment of Matthew Kusi-Appauh as its new Chief Operating Officer.

Matthew, best known to the industry as Kusi, has been a senior leader of Aussie Broadband for over 5 years. He joined the company in 2016 to establish its marketing and strategy functions. By 2018, he was promoted to General Manager Marketing and Corporate Strategy.

Managing Director Phil Britt said that Kusi’s appointment will bring strategic, technical and management competencies to the role.

“Kusi has been an important figure in our leadership team for a number of years, demonstrating a passionate commitment to achieving strategic business outcomes. He has played a huge role in helping to grow our customer base and transform Aussie Broadband into a household brand.”

Chair of Aussie Broadband, Adrian Fitzpatrick, said Kusi also brings extensive technical and management experience to the position.

“I know I speak on behalf of the entire team that we have every confidence that Kusi has the skills and expertise for this critical role within the company.”

The announcement comes following the company’s recent acquisition of IT technology provider Over the Wire. In the newly created role, Kusi will be responsible for leading the integration of the two companies.

“I’m very proud to work for Aussie Broadband and take on this new role. I know just how committed our team are to delivering a game-changing experience for customers, and I’m incredibly excited to be setting us up for the next phase of our growth journey,” he said.

Kusi holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Dean’s Scholar) from the University of Wollongong and is a graduate of the JMW Leader of the Future program.

In 2019 he was recognised as an emerging leader in the ARN 30 under 30 Tech awards, and is a recipient of the prestigious Baden-Powell Award, which is the highest Scouting award available to youth in Australia.
