Laura Mercurio Named Blockchain Australia’s New CEO

Laura Mercurio has been named CEO of Blockchain Australia effective Monday, September 12th, 2022

Blockchain Australia is the leading industry association for Australian businesses and professionals involved in blockchain technology.

As Blockchain Australia heads into a period of significant policy and regulatory consultation concerning digital assets, Laura Mercurio’s appointment as CEO is timely.

Mercurio will lead the organisation following the departure of Steve Vallas and will assist the group in its efforts to become the leading voice for blockchain technology and digital assets in Australia.

According to Mercurio she is looking forward to working with the blockchain community and being the leading voice to drive innovation and change for Australian businesses in the blockchain space.

“There are opportunities ahead for Blockchain and crypto belongings to fundamentally transform the method industries handle day-to-day troubles.”

“I’m pleased to be part of the innovation ecosystem and work with industry members, governments, regulatory bodies, and governments to deliver digital solutions.” says Mercurio

The announcement from Australia’s leading national industry association, issued on Wednesday, stated that Mercurio’s appointment is ‘valuable as we near a phase of significant policy and regulatory consultation that will determine the future of digital assets regulation in Australia.’

Mercurio has worked with AMP and Global Front Room in the past and has extensive experience across consulting, corporate, and technology start-ups.
