Coupa Software, a leader in Business Spend Management (BSM), has appointed Mark Innes as Senior Vice President – Sales, APJ, in a move to expand its presence in the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) region.

With over 20 years of experience managing sales teams in APJ for major multinational technology companies such as Google, Salesforce, and Oracle, Mark will be responsible for driving Coupa’s platform sales, building strategic industry partnerships, and expanding the company’s relationship with major suppliers in the region.

Coupa has been operating in Australia since 2012 and has grown its local team to over 52 staff, working with businesses across various industries, including Seek Ltd, Atlassian, and Safety Culture.

In his role, Mark will play a pivotal role in helping Coupa achieve its goal of transforming the back office, which is often one of the last areas to be impacted by digital transformation, and assisting organisations in maximising value and operationalising their purpose through their business spend.

Mr Innes said, “We have made fantastic headway in the region and built a solid foundation of employees, customer and partner network. I look forward to furthering our scale and equipping more businesses with the digital solutions they need to build financial resilience.”

The CFOs’ role has become more complex due to various factors such as rising interest rates, economic uncertainty, and the possibility of a recession.

According to Coupa, nearly half of CFOs lack full visibility into spend data. Through Coupa, organisations can maximise value and operationalise their purpose through their business spend.

In this uncertain environment, businesses are under pressure to reassess their spending priorities and ensure that they remain profitable, productive, and account for their purpose in environmental, social, and governance aspects.

Coupa’s platform provides a unified and digitised solution that helps CFOs achieve these goals while delivering value across various business operations, including sourcing, contracting, procurement, and supply chain.

“CFOs are under increasing pressure to cut costs, without compromising long term growth. By providing accurate data on spend, CFOs can make informed decisions to optimise financial performance and drive their business forward,” said Mr. Innes.

Innes’ appointment comes as CFO’s across the region grapple with rising interest rates, economic uncertainty, and the possibility of a recession.
