The globally recognised platform for sharing “ideas worth spreading” is coming to Albury, with organisers announcing the region’s first-ever TEDxAlbury event.

The inaugural event is scheduled to take place later this year, marking a significant milestone for the regional city as it joins the worldwide network of independently organised TED events.

TEDxAlbury will provide a new platform for both local and national speakers to share their passions, research, and stories with the community. The event promises to bring a diverse range of speakers and thought-provoking concepts to a local stage.

The TED brand, which originally stood for Technology, Entertainment, and Design, has evolved into the world’s premier stage for showcasing future trends, groundbreaking concepts, and the brilliant minds shaping tomorrow. Technology remains at the heart of most TED conversations.

This ethos extends to local TEDx events, which serve as breeding grounds for new ideas and often provide platforms for founders, developers, and researchers to share their work in cutting-edge fields including artificial intelligence, robotics, medical technology, and sustainable innovation.

The announcement represents a significant cultural development for the Albury region, bringing the internationally acclaimed TED format to local audiences for the first time.

The speaker lineup remains under wraps for now, but TEDx events are known for showcasing a diverse array of topics. It’s highly likely the event will feature voices from the tech sector—ranging from local startups and university researchers to representatives from major companies

The event will be held on Saturday, 25th October 2025, at the Albury Entertainment Centre. The current schedule has the event running from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
