Wyndham City Council Future-Proofs Operations With New ERP System Amid Rapid Growth

Wyndham City Council prepares for major growth with a future-proof ERP transition, completing an on-time, on-budget upgrade to TechnologyOne’s OneCouncil ERP, eliminating inefficiencies and data silos. Phase one integrates a $160 million capital works program to support growth as the area prepares for 500,000 residents by 2040.

Wyndham City Council is showing that digital transformation delivers real results. Its on-time, on-budget move to TechnologyOne’s OneCouncil ERP is already tackling inefficiencies and breaking down data silos, all while preparing for a population of 500,000 by 2040.

Phase One

The first phase of this digital overhaul is a game-changer. Not only has it provided an integrated, holistic view of a $160 million capital works program designed to meet skyrocketing demand, but it’s also radically enhancing day-to-day operations.

Within the first six weeks, Wyndham Council has significantly enhanced day-to-day operations at scale, automating workflows to enable the processing of over 11,600 customer requests and created over 3,300 work orders.

Wyndham City Council CEO Stephen Wall said, “We’re proud that Wyndham City has become such a sought-after place for people to call home, but rapid growth means more housing, roads, libraries, health services, schools, waste management and so on,”

“Delivering phase one of our ERP program on-time and on-budget was no small feat, as these types of implementations are never easy,” said Wall

“But by upgrading the core back-office system, Wyndham City Council is reinforcing its commitment to the community, ensuring everyone gets access to the services they need now and in the future,” he said.

The transition to a single source of truth will help Wyndham City Council meet future demand as the population is set to reach 500,000 in 15 years, all while facing a State Government rate cap of just 2.75%, below inflation and not accounting for growth.

As a result, the council will rely heavily on TechnologyOne’s OneCouncil to accurately track every dollar, effectively maintain assets and prioritise future-focused decisions.

According to Mr Wall every local government area requires constant investment in infrastructure and services. However, it’s the fast-growing communities that need their councils to be as efficient and forward-thinking as possible.

“It’s vital we implemented modern technology that enables us to make data-driven decisions that not only maintain service levels but also enhance them into the future,” Mr Wall said.

“These types of implementations are no small feat, but building a strong partnership with TechnologyOne enabled us to deliver our new ERP system on time and on budget,” he said.

Phase Two

Phase two of Wyndham City Council’s digital transformation will enhance its capacity to manage both new and existing infrastructure, supporting decision-making from development through to maintenance and decommissioning.

Ben Malpass, Executive Vice President for Local Government at TechnologyOne, said, “Many councils are being challenged to leverage technology to derive productivity and efficiency gains, but compromising on service delivery or safety just isn’t an option,”

“Wyndham City Council’s proactive tech-first approach towards greater transparency and enhanced processes is already delivering significant gains and we are proud to have helped them realise these benefits.

“We look forward to continuing to work in collaboration with the team at Wyndham to roll out even more capabilities in the coming months.” he said.

TechnologyOne is Australia’s largest enterprise Software as a Service (SaaS) company and one of Australia’s top 100 ASX-listed companies, with offices across six countries.
