Australian technology leader Jamie Norton has been reappointed Vice Chair of ISACA’s global Board of Directors.
His appointment comes as organisations work through the challenges of artificial intelligence, cyber security, governance and digital trust, and technology professionals face growing pressure to keep their skills current.
Mr Norton, Chief Information Security Officer at the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), will continue helping lead one of the world’s largest professional associations focused on serving IT governance, cyber security, risk, privacy, and audit professionals across their career journeys.
Together with newly appointed Board Chair Massimo Migliuolo, he will help guide ISACA’s global strategy and support a community of more than 195,000 members across more than 190 countries.
Jamie Norton says the pace of technological change had made strong governance more important than ever.
“Technology is advancing faster than many organisations’ ability to govern it effectively. Whether it’s AI, cyber security or digital trust, leaders are looking for practical ways to innovate while maintaining confidence from customers, regulators and boards.”
He said serving on ISACA’s global board provided a unique perspective on how organisations across industries and countries were responding to these challenges.
“One of the greatest privileges of serving on a global board is learning how organisations around the world are tackling common challenges,” said Mr Norton.
“While every market is different, issues like AI governance, cyber resilience and digital trust are universal. Sharing practical experience internationally helps organisations avoid repeating mistakes and adopt approaches that genuinely build trust.” he said.

Earlier this month, ISACA announced the launch of its CMMI AI Maturity (AIM) Model, providing organisations with a practical framework to assess and strengthen AI governance and capability.
The release follows ISACA’s recent AI Pulse Poll, which found AI adoption continues to outpace governance maturity, with only 38 per cent of organisations reporting they have a comprehensive AI policy.
Throughout his career, Mr Norton has contributed to numerous Australian and international cyber security initiatives, including ISACA’s Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certification,
Australia’s Cyber Security Strategy, and the Australian Signals Directorate’s IRAP and Cloud programs. He is also a recognised keynote speaker and commentator on cyber security, AI governance, risk and digital trust.
