Confluent, Inc. today announced the appointment of Gavin Jones as Vice President Sales, Australia & New Zealand.

Jones brings 25 years’ experience in leadership and sales roles at fast-growth, global technologies companies. He will use this to spearhead Confluent’s growth in Australia and New Zealand, with a focus on engaging customers and empowering his regional team to inspire businesses on the potential of data in motion.

Jones joins Confluent from Tableau, a Salesforce company, where he served as Country Manager, Australia & New Zealand, responsible for developing and executing its ANZ go-to-market strategy and Salesforce integration. Prior to this, Jones held the role of Regional Vice President, Australia & New Zealand at MongoDB, where he built a high performance sales and services team, developed its partner ecosystem and secured new business with iconic brands in the region.

Larry Shurtz, Chief Revenue Officer at Confluent, comments: “Confluent continues to focus on our customers’ love. Gavin is a well-respected, world-class leader who brings a wealth of experience to our customers, partners and employees. Combining this with his regional market intelligence, he is ideally positioned to scale Confluent in this exciting growth phase.”

Jones comments: “I’ve joined Confluent at an incredibly exciting time in its growth journey. We have a huge potential market, as businesses are fast realising the benefits of real-time, event-based data and analytics. However, our people will determine our success, so I’ll be working closely with our team to develop a positive, empowering and innovation-led culture that creates opportunities for everyone.”

Prior to his roles at Tableau and MongoDB, Jones was Managing Director, Australia & New Zealand at Pivotal, Inc. (now part of VMware), and held senior sales roles at Salesforce, Good Technology, Oracle and Avaya.

Gavin is based in Sydney, Australia.
