eHealth NSW has appointed Richard Taggart as its permanent Chief Executive and Chief Information Officer for NSW Health, bringing with him over 20 years of experience in ICT and a strong background in clinical pharmacy.
Taggart previously served as Chief Information Officer for Sydney Local Health District (2019 – 2023), leading the Digital Health and Innovation team and overseeing major initiatives including the NSW Health Vaccination Centre systems and the RPA Virtual Hospital.
As a transformative leader in digital health, Richard has demonstrated a proven track record of success across both public and private healthcare organizations, making significant contributions to the sector.
Richard says he is excited to bring his extensive experience to eHealth NSW and lead it through its next chapter.

Richard began his role on 20 January 2025, after previously serving as the National Director of Digital Health at Calvary Health Care, where he led significant initiatives in digital transformation and healthcare innovation.
