Australian businesses are moving from AI experimentation to implementation, creating growing demand for specialist technology partners capable of helping enterprises deploy artificial intelligence into real-world operations.

That shift is driving expansion at APAC AI and data consultancy V2 AI, which has opened a Perth operation and appointed four senior executives as it looks to strengthen its presence across Australia’s technology, resources and enterprise sectors.

The Perth expansion places V2 AI closer to Western Australia’s major energy and resources companies, industries increasingly exploring how AI can improve productivity, decision-making and operational efficiency.

The company has appointed Richard Allen as Partner and Derek Bingham as Perth Director, establishing a permanent team in one of Australia’s most significant technology and resources markets.

V2 AI has also expanded its national leadership team with the appointments of Holly Dean as Partner and Jean-Manuel Becker as Director, both based in Melbourne.

The leadership changes come as Australian organisations face growing pressure to move beyond AI trials and determine how the technology can deliver measurable business outcomes.

V2 AI has recently been working with enterprise leaders through Claude Code and Cowork workshops, delivered in partnership with Anthropic across Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Singapore.

The workshops have brought together technology executives and business leaders from major organisations to examine how AI can be integrated into everyday workflows, customer experiences and internal operations.

The growing interest reflects a wider shift in the business landscape, with companies increasingly focused on turning AI investment into practical applications rather than simply exploring emerging technology.

Richard Allen joins V2 AI following more than a decade at Amazon Web Services (AWS), where he most recently worked as Global Account Manager supporting some of Australia’s largest enterprise customers.

Before joining AWS, Allen spent more than 20 years working with organisations across resources, construction and agriculture, helping businesses align technology investments with operational goals.

His appointment highlights the increasing importance of executives with both technical knowledge and enterprise experience as businesses navigate the challenges of adopting AI at scale.

V2 AI’s Perth expansion comes as Australian companies face a critical decision point: whether to treat artificial intelligence as a short-term technology trend or build the capability needed to compete in an increasingly AI-driven economy.

Derek Bingham joins as Perth Director, bringing more than 20 years’ experience in software architecture, cloud engineering and developer leadership, with a recent focus on applying AI to enterprise software delivery.

Bingham has most recently led engineering teams as a Principal Software Engineer at a major Australian bank, where he used AI tooling to modernise the core banking platform and upskill engineers.

He previously spent more than eight years at AWS, serving as both Senior Developer Advocate and Senior Partner Solutions Architect, where he helped organisations adopt cloud-native technologies and modern engineering practices.

He has also held senior engineering leadership roles across financial services, consulting and technology.

At V2 AI, Bingham will help organisations across Western Australia modernise software delivery and strengthen developer capability with AI.

She has also helped brands accelerate business expansion through compliant technology adoption at pace.

Dean’s appointment will strengthen V2 AI’s focus on AI capability uplift through strategic innovation and growth.

Most recently, as Principal Cloud Architect at AWS, he helped organisations across energy, mining, aviation, public sector, and financial services build the secure, governed digital foundations necessary for lasting AI value.
