Dematic, a global leader in supply chain automation, has expanded its Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) portfolio with the launch of the new Reach Truck Series (RTS) 120.

Designed for high-bay, single-selective racking environments, Dematic’s new RTS 120 Reach Truck combines the reliability of traditional reach truck functionality with the efficiency of driverless automation.

The model delivers precise, consistent high-bay handling across both new and existing facilities, enhancing operational safety and performance.

Unlike many automation systems that demand custom-built layouts, the RTS 120 is engineered to integrate seamlessly into existing warehouse infrastructures.

The adaptability enables businesses to adopt automation without major redesigns, accelerating implementation timelines, reducing upfront costs, and providing a straightforward upgrade path from manual reach truck operations.

Available in several models, the RTS 120 introduces an important addition to the Dematic AGV range. The new models leverage the same core Dematic AGV technology platform, ensuring consistency, reliability, and ease of integration.

With capacities up to 1,200 kg and reach heights up to 10 metres, the AGV brings a new level of precision to high-bay racking, operating safely and reliably in spaces where manual forklifts typically face greater risk of error and damage.

Manufactured and supported in Australia, the RTS 120 is backed by Dematic’s locally developed software and deep engineering expertise. This ensures responsive support, streamlined upgrades, and close alignment with regional customer needs.

“The robust design of the RTS 120 means it can operate reliably in high-bay environments where precision is critical, all while providing advanced safety features that minimise rack and product damage,” says Tony Raggio, General Manager Sales – Mobile Automation ANZ Dematic.

“By integrating directly with warehouse management and control systems, the RTS 120 brings reach truck automation into the mainstream, providing businesses with the flexibility to scale and adapt as their operations evolve.” he said.

Safety and predictability are key design principles of the RTS 120. Its advanced laser-guided navigation ensures precise positioning and smooth handling, while enhancing operator and facility safety.

With travel speeds of up to 1.7 metres per second and compatibility across ambient, chilled, and freezer environments, these AGVs maintain performance in even the most demanding warehouse conditions.

The AGVs integrate seamlessly with Dematic’s MANAGE+ AGV Warehouse Control Software (WCS), which connects with existing warehouse management and control systems.

This end-to-end visibility allows businesses to coordinate AGV operations with other automated assets, including palletisers, pallet shuttles, and robotic picking cells, unlocking opportunities for predictive logistics and data-driven optimisation.

“The RTS 120 represents a step change for customers who want to automate reach truck tasks without a complete redesign of their site,”

“It delivers tangible benefits like reducing labour requirements, improving safety, and achieving strong ROI, while laying the foundation for resilient and agile logistics, where businesses can use real-time data to make smarter, faster supply chain decisions.” said Raggio.

With research and development engineering centres, manufacturing facilities, and service centres located in more than 26 countries, the Dematic global network of approximately 10,000 employees has integrated and supported automation solutions for many of the world’s leading brands.
