Micro Focus (LSE: MCRO; NYSE: MFGP) has announced the appointment of Richard Everett to the role of managing director – Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) effective 1 Nov. 2022, following the retirement of Peter Fuller.

Richard Everett’s role will be to drive the ANZ team in key immediate growth specialisation areas, including application modernisation and cybersecurity (CyberRes)

He will also drive longer-term growth specialisation areas such as artificial intelligence (AI) data analytics and governance and IT operations including a commitment to investing in people and training to ensure employees are empowered to execute Micro Focus’ go-to-market strategy.

Additionally, Richards new appointment will see him maintain a culture that fosters talent and supporting global corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, such as the company’s recently announced pledge to reduce global carbon emissions to net zero by 2050.

Stephen McNulty, President, Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ), Micro Focus, says I am extremely proud that Richard Everett has been appointed to this role from within Micro Focus. His leadership experience is an asset to the team, partners, and customers in ANZ.

“He is already off to a flying start in continuing the many great successes in the region, and we look forward to seeing him lead the very capable ANZ team into the future.” said Mcnulty.

With over two decades of experience in the IT field, Richard has a proven track record of accomplishments and was the director and corporate secretary at Caballarius Investments Pty Ltd.

Mr Everett says organisations are facing an ever-present, increasing threat in the cyber space, and Micro Focus is well-positioned to help customers with their security posture to protect their environment, as well as the privacy of their data and their customer’s data.

“When it comes to application modernisation and transformation strategies, Micro Focus’s expertise, coupled with its alliances and partnerships with key hyperscalers, will also benefit customers and prospects in the coming twelve months,” Mr Everett said.

“I am excited to work with the team to help develop future leaders as well as look at the wider impact of what we do in ANZ and the contributions we make to our people, our customers, and the planet,” he said

Previously, Richard Everett was the sales director for ANZ’s southern region at Micro Focus and has taken on leadership roles in Australia and Singapore for CGI, Unisys, ASG Group and Cisco.
