QNAP Systems has been recognised as one of the world’s leading software-defined storage vendors after being named among the “50 Coolest Software-Defined Storage Vendors” in CRN’s 2026 Storage 100 list, highlighting the company’s growing role in the evolution of modern data infrastructure.

Reporting on the announcement, the recognition places QNAP among storage technology providers that are driving innovation through software-defined platforms, cloud integration, cybersecurity capabilities and next-generation data management solutions.

The annual CRN Storage 100 list, published by CRN, a brand of The Channel Company, identifies storage vendors that are advancing technology development while supporting channel partners with solutions designed for increasingly complex IT environments.

QNAP’s inclusion in the software-defined storage category reflects its continued focus on integrating flexible operating systems, hybrid cloud connectivity and advanced data services into its network-attached storage platforms.

The company has positioned its solutions beyond traditional storage hardware by combining enterprise storage, networking technologies and Edge AI capabilities.

The company says its approach is centred on delivering secure and scalable storage infrastructure designed to meet the changing requirements of businesses managing growing volumes of data.

QNAP has continued expanding its enterprise technology portfolio by combining software-defined storage capabilities with networking solutions and AI-enabled NAS technologies.

Its platforms incorporate cybersecurity features, including zero-trust security measures, designed to help organisations protect critical business data while supporting emerging applications such as artificial intelligence processing at the edge.

QNAP Chairman Meiji Chang says the recognition from CRN reflects the company’s commitment to technology development and supporting channel partners globally.

“Being recognized by CRN as one of the 50 Coolest Software-Defined Storage Vendors is a testament to QNAP’s unwavering dedication to technological excellence and channel partner success,” said Chang,

Jennifer Follett, Vice President of U.S. Content and Executive Editor at CRN, The Channel Company, says the companies recognised in this year’s Storage 100 continue to advance storage technology while strengthening partnerships across the channel ecosystem.

“We’re proud to recognise the companies on this year’s Storage 100 for their deep commitment to partnering with the channel to deliver truly transformative storage solutions,” said Follett

“These vendors continue to push meaningful innovation in storage while evolving partner strategies that drive success across the entire channel ecosystem.” she said.

The recognition comes as businesses worldwide face increasing pressure to manage expanding data volumes, improve cybersecurity protections and support emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.

Storage platforms are increasingly becoming a critical component of enterprise technology strategies, with organisations looking for solutions that provide greater flexibility, security and performance.

QNAP’s inclusion in the CRN 2026 Storage 100 highlights the company’s continued expansion from traditional NAS hardware into broader software-defined infrastructure, where storage, networking, cloud connectivity and AI capabilities are becoming increasingly interconnected.
