Microsoft Announces The Next Generation of AI Capabilities With Dynamics 365 and Power Platform

Microsoft announced the next generation of AI capabilities across its enterprise applications portfolio with Dynamics 365 and Power Platform signaling the next generation of CRM, ERP, and low code, leveraging AI to bring a more intuitive experience for business tools and data.

Today’s announcement further enhances the cutting-edge AI innovation exclusively available across Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, and the Power Platform.

This includes: the next generation of AI capabilities in Microsoft Teams, the collaboration platform for work with more than 280 million monthly active users; Viva Sales, which helps sellers by bringing a sales copilot to their flow of work in Microsoft 365; and Power Apps, enabling citizen developers to write code using natural language.

The new Dynamics 365 Copilot provides interactive, AI-powered assistance to transform how work gets done across business roles.

The Copilot now puts CRM and ERP to work for business users to accelerate their pace of innovation and help business professionals spend more time on the best parts of their jobs and less time on mundane tasks.

Charles Lamanna, CVP, Business Applications and Platform says the next era of business applications is being transformed by generative AI. Users will increasingly expect their CRM and ERP applications to include AI-powered expertise.

“Dynamics 365 Copilot brings the latest AI breakthroughs to every line of business, improving customer experience, employee experience and operational efficiency,”

“Over the last four years, we’ve been on a journey to bring generative AI and foundation models to the workplace,”

“We’ve now reached the point where the tech and product can enable transformative outcomes for customers.” says Lamanna

Considering Microsoft’s recent venture into generative text with Bing Chat, some may hesitate to develop an application utilizing the company’s technology for fear of it malfunctioning.

However, Lamanna assures that the Conversation Boosters, GPT model, and Copilot, are all well-grounded in reality as they rely on each customer’s unique data sources such as their CRM and ERP.

In 2021, Microsoft launched GPT capabilities within Power Apps, ushering in a new AI-driven era for low code development.

Today, Power Platform is bringing new generative AI features and creating a more intuitive, iterative experience for citizen developers and accelerated development for professional developers.
