Dematic has concluded three days of technology demonstrations, industry engagement and education at CeMAT Australia 2026, using the event to showcase automation systems, software and expertise aimed at reshaping supply chain operations.
As a major sponsor of CeMAT Australia 2026, Dematic hosted visitors from the retail, grocery, manufacturing, third-party logistics and distribution sectors.
The company used the event to demonstrate how intelligent automation can help organisations increase capacity, lift productivity and strengthen operational resilience.
One of the main attractions was the Australian debut of the Dematic Multishuttle FD Shuttle System, which gave attendees the first local opportunity to see the technology operating in a live demonstration.
The system drew strong interest from businesses looking for scalable, high-density storage solutions that can expand with changing operational needs.
Visitors also saw a broader range of technologies designed to connect people, processes and automation.
These included Automated Guided Vehicles, AutoStore™, 4-Way Pallet Shuttle solutions, Connected Workforce technologies with Voice and Vision picking demonstrations, Lifecycle Services capabilities and Australian-made Colby Storage Solutions.
The exhibition gave attendees a closer look at how these technologies can work together to support smarter, more connected warehouse operations, while also allowing them to speak directly with Dematic’s local automation specialists.
David Rubie, ANZ Sales Director, Integrated Systems and Mobile Automation at Dematic, said the event reflected growing demand for practical automation solutions that can deliver measurable operational gains.
“CeMAT provides a valuable opportunity to speak directly with businesses about the challenges they’re facing in their operations,” said Rubie.
“This year there was strong interest in solutions that can help organisations improve productivity, increase storage density and make better use of existing facilities.” he said.
Rubie also presented at the CeMAT Knowledge Theatre in a session titled Optimising Manual Warehouses with Automation.
His presentation examined how pallet shuttles, AGVs and Dematic’s FD Shuttle solution are helping organisations improve capacity, lift operational performance and build greater resilience within existing facilities.
“For many organisations, the focus is on finding practical ways to get more out of their existing operations,” Rubie said.
“The technologies available today provide greater flexibility than ever before, allowing businesses to automate at a pace that aligns with their needs and growth plans.” he said
Dematic also used the event to discuss the growing role of AI and connected workforce technologies in warehouse operations.
In the presentation AI is Here: Optimising Frontline Workers, Dematic’s ANZ Director of Connected Workforce Solutions and Storage Equipment, Lee Koutsos, and Zebra Technologies Sales Engineering Manager ANZ, Daniel Park, explored how AI-powered tools are being applied in frontline environments.
The session focused on how enhanced intelligence can be placed directly into the hands of warehouse workers, supporting improvements in productivity, operational efficiency and warehouse control.
Philip Makowski, Marketing Director APAC at Dematic, said the mix of live demonstrations, customer discussions and industry knowledge sharing reinforced the importance of events such as CeMAT.
“The conversations throughout the event reflected a strong focus on improving productivity, making better use of existing facilities and building more resilient operations,”
“It’s clear that organisations are looking for solutions that can deliver value today while providing flexibility for the future,” Makowski said.
“Dematic has supported CeMAT since its inaugural year, so it was particularly meaningful to return as the major sponsor in 2026 as we celebrate 60 years of supporting customers across Australia and New Zealand,” he said.
