Simon was the co-founder and Managing Director of InfoTrust, which merged with Spirit Technologies in a deal finalised this month to complement the existing cyber business unit, Intalock Cyber Security.

The merger creates an MSSP powerhouse that spans industries and boasts expertise across the full scope of cyber security managed service solutions.

Simon co-founded InfoTrust in 2014 and brings a unique perspective of the Australian business environment and the opportunities that currently exist for cyber security providers.

He has spent the months since the merger was announced in February 2024 exploring synergies between the companies, highlighting complementary talent skill sets, and uncovering potential scope to uplift and reinforce the existing set of product solutions.

MD of the Spirit Group, Julian Challingsworth said of the appointment, “Simon brings an energy and enthusiasm that will drive our rapid expansion in the cyber security industry,”

“He is a proven business leader who has grown InfoTrust to stand out as a leading technology brand and I have been instantly impressed by the depth of his knowledge and ambition to deliver exceptional service to our growing client base.”

Newly appointed CEO Simon McKay commented, “I am excited by the chance to lead the expanding cyber security business. As a combined entity we have circa 110 cyber experts with the opportunity now to build on what is already a world class cyber capability,.”

“We have a raft of new solutions and services in the pipeline, we’ve become one of the largest partners to a number of our vendors, and our mission is to create one of the most robust and comprehensive cyber businesses in Australia.”

The growing demand for both defensive and offensive security capabilities is set to fuel the next wave of expansion for Spirit’s cyber brands.
