In celebration of Australia’s leading small and medium businesses, Rahma Health was crowned Business of the Year at the 2025 Telstra Best of Business Awards National Gala in Brisbane last night, taking out the win in a highly competitive field.
Rahma Health is a globally recognised, Australia-based charity that creates culturally and psychologically safe health and parenting resources for multicultural communities around the world—particularly Arabic-speaking families affected by war, displacement, racism, poverty, and intergenerational trauma.
Amanda Hutton, Group Executive, Telstra Business, said, “A huge congratulations to Rahma Health and all the 2025 Telstra Best of Business Award winners – it’s truly a phenomenal achievement,”
“We’re so proud to recognise and celebrate these outstanding businesses and share their wonderful success stories,”
“Rahma Health’s clear impact on improving the lives of women, families, and communities made them a standout for our judges,” said Hutton
“Led by founder Dr Naba Alfayadh, who, after moving to Australia from Iraq, identified a major gap in the healthcare system—particularly for women refugees—Rahma Health has become a powerful force for change.
“Building on her lived experience and medical background, Dr Alfayadh has shown remarkable and inspiring leadership in championing the health of women in Arabic-speaking communities in Australia and around the world.
“Through innovative use of technology and by mobilising a global network of partners and volunteers, they have created a scalable and sustainable platform that bridges the gap between essential health knowledge and the communities that need it most.
“The Rahma Health approach ensures that those who are often unseen or unsupported by mainstream health services receive the guidance and resources they need.” she said.
