Ocean City Labs announces its official opening in Maroochydore, bringing a new  technological hub of innovation to the Sunshine Coast.

As a leading start-up and scale-up incubator,  Ocean City Labs is dedicated to fostering the growth and success of emerging companies in the  region.

This new tech hub provides budding entrepreneurs on the Sunshine Coast with access to top-notch  resources, including co-working spaces, mentorship opportunities, and a dynamic community of like minded entrepreneurs.

Located on Ocean Street, Ocean City Labs boasts coastal river and ocean views while being able to provide all the perks of the thriving Brisbane tech scene.

Ocean City Labs is the brainchild of Declan Vanderhor – founder of software company TabLogs – who recognised the need for a technology incubator on the Sunshine Coast after struggling to find an  appropriate space for his business.

“I wanted to establish Ocean City Labs so that like-minded tech enthusiasts have a space where they can work together on the Sunshine Coast,” said Vanderhor

“I spent quite some time looking for a space on the Sunshine Coast where me and my employees could work in an environment with other start-ups,”

“While there are plenty of spaces in Brisbane, I saw that there were few options on the Sunshine Coast.”.

“Demand is high. We already have four tech businesses working in Ocean City Labs and we’ve only
just opened. It’s exciting working in a space where we all get to learn from each other. We can’t wait to welcome other emerging businesses to Ocean City Labs.” he said

The new hub has been established in partnership with River City Labs, a leading Australian  Technology Incubator for high growth emerging technology companies.

River City Labs programs and services will be offered to all Ocean City Lab members digitally, providing access to critical networks  and support to help companies grow.

“We are thrilled to co-create this hub with River City Labs alumni Declan and the Team at Tablogs.”  Pauline Feataui said, Director of Labs; River City Labs, Bay City Labs, Harbour City Labs, Ocean City  Labs and Startup Catalyst, of the Australia Computer Society (ACS).

“The Sunshine Coast has so much innovation talent and we are excited to provide direct support to  this community through Ocean City Labs.”

The space was leased by Raine & Horne Commercial Sunshine Coast, an Australian real estate  franchise group, who wanted to assist with establishing a new innovation space on the Sunshine  Coast.

“After being approached by Declan Vanderhor and discussing his vision to create a technological hub  here on the Sunshine Coast, we were delighted to be able to assist in securing a quality commercial  premises to make that dream a reality.” David C Smith said, Director of Sale and Leasing at Raine  and Horne Commercial Sunshine Coast.

“We suggested to Declan that he lease the entire tenancy, which consists of several offices, an area  for hotdesks plus a 193sqm exclusive rooftop balcony. This gives him the option to sublease each of  the offices and hotdesks to other local entrepreneurs who complement the new innovation space and  Declan’s vision.”

Ocean City Labs is thrilled to be a part of the thriving business community in Maroochydore and looks  forward to supporting the next generation of successful tech businesses in the region.
