Australia’s fastest growing industry-leading civil construction company, MR Roads, is already reaping significant benefits from its newly launched AI system, MR Roads Tech.

MR Roads Tech is a proprietary AI-driven civil enterprise and project delivery management platform that represents a breakthrough in how major infrastructure organisations and projects are managed.

Designed in-house by MR Roads’ executive and technology teams, the platform delivers a fully integrated solution for scheduling, forecasting, quoting, resource allocation, safety and compliance in real time.

Built specifically for the complex and dynamic conditions of large-scale roads and infrastructure projects, MR Roads Tech uses machine learning to automate critical workflows across crew management, fatigue tracking, payroll, cost reconciliation and scope deviation.

The respected founders behind MR Roads, Daniel Mikus and James Rolph, are confident MR Roads Tech will transform Australia’s civil industry as well as industries around the globe.

“Civil construction is increasingly multidimensional. Tight margins, volatile schedules, layered subcontractor arrangements and high compliance requirements all require a precision-based approach to planning and execution,” Mikus said.

“MR Roads Tech delivers that precision. It gives us the operational intelligence to forecast and optimise workforce outputs, anticipate risks and deploy resources with minimal wastage. Already we are seeing significant benefits across the business as a result of the new technology.”

The platform’s advanced fatigue management engine cross-references shift histories, environmental conditions and project timelines to predict workforce exhaustion and recommend mitigations before incidents occur.

By forecasting workable hours and ensuring compliance with employment regulations, the tool actively improves both safety and productivity on site.

At the financial level, the integration of real-time cost management with live crew scheduling enables supervisors and project managers to make high-impact decisions with full awareness of project burn rates and contract alignment.

Through this capability, MR Roads expects to see significantly improved project margin control and reduced administrative lag.

“This technology replaces a patchwork of disconnected legacy systems with a centralised digital platform that is predictive, adaptive and built for scale,” Rolph said.

“It empowers teams at every level, from site leads to executive decision makers, with accurate, data-informed insights.”

Platform is the first of its kind to be developed in the Australian civil infrastructure sector.

While it will initially be used exclusively by MR Roads, the company has confirmed it will launch a white-label version for external license by the end of 2025, enabling industry peers to adopt and brand the system for their own operations.

“We are not just improving internal efficiency, we are setting a new benchmark for the industry,” Mikus said.

“This system will consistently increase productivity, reduce compliance exposure and allow civil contractors to scale operations with greater confidence. Its ability to continually learn is already yielding incredible results.”

Three administrative positions within MR Roads are being restructured as part of the platform launch, with those team members transitioning into higher-value roles focused on analytics, business growth and operational excellence.

“Large projects involve complex resourcing. MR Roads Tech will forecast and build crew schedules inclusive of net pay requirements empowering better decision-making and improved budgeting.

“It will also enable us to put forward highly tuned project quotations and undertake instant cost reconciliations,” Mikus added.

“Our new tech is a game-changer and with work already in the pipeline for the Brisbane Olympics in 2032, the implementation of MR Roads Tech is incredibly timely.

“It will position us to consistently win new business and ensure that we are able to consistently deliver on budget. The capability to generate deep granular insights across the business and our operations gives us a level of instant visibility we need in order to excel.”
