The initiative, which spans the South Asia Pacific, Middle East, and North Africa (SAPMENA) region, connects early-stage innovators with one of the world’s largest beauty conglomerates, offering startups the opportunity to pilot their solutions with global brands.
The Competition
Touted as the largest open innovation event in the beauty tech space across the SAPMENA region, the 2025 edition of L’Oréal’s Big Bang programme drew more than 50,000 applicants from Southeast Asia, India, the Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand.
From the extended pool, ten finalists were invited to pitch their technology-driven solutions before a panel of industry experts.
Four companies ultimately took home top honours: Halo AI (UAE), Heatseeker (Australia), Sravathi AI (India), and Without (India). A fifth startup received a special mention for innovation.
The SAPMENA zone has emerged as a focal point for technology-driven startups in recent years. The region’s large, digitally-savvy youth population and the swift uptake of eCommerce are seen as drivers of innovation.
“SAPMENA is one of the world’s most dynamic regions, with millions of young, digitally-savvy consumers fuelling the rapid rise of digital commerce and brand innovation,” said Vismay Sharma, President of L’Oréal SAPMENA Zone.
“While Silicon Valley often comes to mind for startups, we believe the centre of gravity for innovation is increasingly diversifying and shifting to regions like SAPMENA where market demand is shaping ideas to impact,”

Other Winners and Special Mentions
The 2025 L’Oréal Big Bang Beauty Tech Innovation Programme also highlighted several other standout innovators from the region:
- Halo AI (UAE): Recognised for its AI-powered platform that helps brands streamline collaborations with content creators, enhancing marketing efficiency and influencer engagement.
- Sravathi AI (India): Developed a platform leveraging artificial intelligence for pharmaceutical discovery and manufacturing, aiming to accelerate research and production processes.
- Without (India): Focuses on turning unrecyclable plastic waste into new materials through a patented chemo-mechanical process, promoting circular economy principles.
- Wubble AI (Singapore): Received a special mention for its generative AI solution that allows brands to rapidly create royalty-free, personalised music, opening new avenues for creative marketing campaigns.
These companies, alongside Heatseeker, reflect the growing intersection of technology, sustainability, and creativity in the beauty and consumer industries across the SAPMENA region.
