Eggy the app that helps manage all your life admin launches after recent national survey

A recent national survey conducted by Aussie life-tech startup Eggy has found nearly three quarters of Australian adults said that the responsibility of managing their household’s life admin negatively impacted their mental health, causing stress and/or anxiety.

To help alleviate the increasing burden of life admin, Eggy is the app that helps you manage all your life admin in the one place.

The brainchild of PhD scientist Kate Morgan and former NRL powerhouse Kirk Reynoldson, Eggy allows users to capture paper documents like receipts, import PDFs and screenshots like recipes, forward email attachments like bills, add doctor’s appointments, children’s swimming lessons and weddings to their calendar, share to-do lists with others in the household, get reminders to pay the car rego, and more.

Eggy’s survey also found that 60% of people are generally doing more life admin related tasks compared to two years ago, before the pandemic.

Former health professional and Eggy co-founder Kate Morgan said, “The impacts of COVID-19 mean that the lines between work and life are now blurred, we have more documentation to keep track of and more life admin than ever before.”

“We’re so excited to be launching at a time when there’s such a great need for the product, but Eggy isn’t just a flash in the pan response to COVID. The pandemic has merely accelerated what was already happening: we’re getting busier and busier and it’s unlikely to slow down.”

Additionally, the research found that women are doing the lion’s share of the tasks. More than half of respondents said they manage between 90-100% of household life admin. This group, who said they’re in charge of responsibilities such as paying bills, storing and retrieving documents and making appointments, is made up of 90% women and 10% men.

“We’re only just getting started but Eggy is well on the way to automating the entire process of life admin. We’d love to do away with email and connect consumers directly with their service providers in a way that hasn’t been done before,” said the mum-of-three.

“Being non-technical founders when we started Eggy, we’ve brought a huge consumer focus to a technology product. It’s been the most challenging thing we’ve done in our professional lives but also the most fulfilling because it’s purpose driven work. That’s also why we’ve been able to bring together such an awesome community with our team, our users, our investors and advisors.”

Based on the Gold Coast, Eggy is made up of a talented team of professionals and backed by a stellar advisory board of experienced tech founders including Daniel Grzelak of Atlassian as Security Advisor, Semin Nurkic as Technical Advisor and Peter Cassidy of Stackla as Product Advisor.

Semin Nurkic, Eggy Technical Advisor said Eggy’s limitless potential was obvious from the beginning.

“We saw a big opportunity in Kate and Kirk as founders because they’ve both been in high performance roles and environments where they’ve developed the resilience that’s necessary to deal with the hard yakka of a startup,” he said.

“Eggy is a life-changing tool and I’m thrilled to be a part of this ambitious team. We’ve got big plans for the product and how we can continue to make life just a little bit easier for everyone.”

Renowned former NRL first grade player and Eggy co-founder Kirk Reynoldson said, “We conceived Eggy after we were hit with an $800 fine because we forgot to pay our car rego and thought to ourselves that there must be a better way to manage life admin.”

“We knew we were onto something when in our initial user interviews, people would break down in tears talking about how the mental load of managing life admin was breaking them on the daily.”

“We’ve had users tell us they’ve brushed off big tech like DropBox and Google to use Eggy instead because we’re humanising tech. We’re solving everyday problems for ordinary people and user-friendliness has always been a huge priority.”

“We’ve put it all on the line to make Eggy a success. We’ve invested our life savings and we are determined to make it work.

We’ve come this far because of our community and the support we’ve had from them to keep going.

And we will. We know that everyone hates managing life admin and Eggy is the solution. An easier way.”
