Climate & Decisions, an Australian climate advisory firm, today launched Climate Decision Intelligence. The new solution, built on Aera Technology’s leading agentic decision intelligence platform, turns climate and sustainability information into operational, financial and commercial action.

Organisations generate more climate information than ever before, through risk assessments, emissions inventories, supplier evaluations, transition plans, carbon budgets and mandatory disclosures.

Yet much of it stays disconnected from the decisions that ultimately determine business and climate outcomes.

Climate Decision Intelligence closes that gap by connecting climate and sustainability signals with business context, evaluating response options and making trade-offs across revenue, cost, margin, service, resilience and emissions visible to decision-makers.

It delivers recommendations and executes decisions with quantified impacts, accountable ownership, defined approval pathways and a traceable record of the resulting action.

The solution pairs Climate & Decisions’ climate, sustainability, governance and operating-model expertise with Aera Technology’s agentic decision intelligence platform.

Since its launch in 2017, Aera Technology has helped pioneer what is now known as decision intelligence, advancing the technology to enable governed, transparent and continuously learning decisions at scale.

Thierry Lotrian, CEO and Founder of Climate & Decisions, said, “The market does not need another climate dashboard. It needs a faster, more governed path from climate signals to business action.

“A climate event, carbon-budget deviation or drop in supplier sustainability performance can quickly become a revenue, service, margin and risk decision,”

“Every climate decision is ultimately a business decision, and this solution embeds climate intelligence into the decisions that shape enterprise performance, while keeping judgement, ownership and accountability with the business.” he said.

Rajeev Mitroo, VP & General Manager, APJ at Aera Technology, said, “Organisations have invested significantly in climate data, risk analysis and sustainability reporting, but the real value comes when that intelligence improves a business decision,”

“This is a practical example of agentic decision intelligence helping businesses move from climate ambition to measurable action.” said Mitroo

Five Initial Decision Skills

The solution launches with five Aera Skills™ built around recurring climate and sustainability decisions:

  • Supply Chain Resilience – protects availability, revenue and service when climate events disrupt suppliers, transport or inventory

  • Carbon-Aware Promotion – identifies product, portfolio or campaign changes that cut emissions while managing margin and availability

  • Carbon Budget Optimisation – recommends adjustments when emissions move outside budget

  • Supplier Risk – links supplier sustainability performance to commercial exposure and flags when escalation is required

  • Sustainable Sourcing – compares suppliers and sourcing allocations across cost, carbon footprint, performance, capacity, service, and risk

Each Skill connects a climate or sustainability signal with relevant business context, evaluates viable options and makes financial, operational and climate trade-offs visible.

It can generate a recommendation and route it to an accountable business owner for review, modification, approval or escalation, or enable automated execution where appropriate.

Decision context, actions and outcomes are retained in Aera, providing traceability and decision memory that help organisations learn from previous decisions and continuously improve future decision-making.

The launch comes as climate risks increasingly affect supply continuity, procurement, commercial performance and capital allocation, and as IFRS S2-aligned disclosure requirements raise the bar for connecting material climate risks with governance, strategy and financial performance.

Organisations can start with one high-value, repeatable decision and configure the data, criteria and governance around their own environment:

Climate & Decisions embeds the climate intelligence and operating model, Aera accelerates the decision process, and accountable business owners retain control over every recommendation.

Climate & Decisions and Aera Technology will shortly publish a joint paper, The Climate Decision Advantage, exploring the climate decision gap and providing a practical path from an initial use case to an enterprise-wide capability.

Climate Decision Intelligence will be showcased at the ESG Procurement Conference 2026 in Sydney on 16 September 2026, where attendees will be able to explore how the solution turns climate and sustainability signals into governed business decisions.
