Zoom Video Communications, Inc. has announced the appointment of seasoned tech and business leader, Bede Hackney, as Head of Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) effective immediately.

In his new role, Hackney will drive growth in the region, leveraging his extensive experience managing high-growth companies and large multinationals.

Hackney brings extensive expertise as a technology and business leader, boasting a remarkable track record of over 25 years. Throughout his career, he has successfully managed high-growth companies and prominent multinational organisations, consistently driving business expansion.

His most recent role was as the Regional Vice President, ANZ at Databricks, where he played a pivotal role in expanding the company’s footprint within the region. Prior to that, he held senior leadership positions with renowned technology firms such as Tenable, Nimble Storage, VMware, and Citrix.

Kapur says Bede brings to Zoom his extensive experience in building successful teams and driving customer success. We are delighted to have Bede on board to lead our go-to-market strategy and spearhead the next chapter of growth in ANZ.

“Bede’s leadership and solid track record in helping customers solve business challenges with technology will be immensely beneficial in meeting the growing demand for collaboration solutions in the region as organisations embrace the new realities of flexible workplaces and reimagine their customer experience,” said Kapur

“Zoom’s widely recognised brand and its reputation as an essential means of connection for businesses and individuals have positioned the company strongly to lead the market,” said Hackey

“I am excited to join Zoom and look forward to leading a dynamic team to scale the business in ANZ and drive greater value for our customers with Zoom’s platform innovations.”

Zoom, Founded in 2011, is a publicly traded company (NASDAQ: ZM) with its headquarters located in San Jose, California.
