With the country’s data center rack market expected to grow at a CAGR of 7.10%, 4Cabling is poised to meet the increasing demand for robust and scalable data center solutions.

The Australian data center market, which was valued at USD 1.7 million last year, is projected to expand significantly, driven by the rise of mobile broadband, Big Data analytics, and cloud computing.

By 2029, the total number of racks installed across Australia is expected to exceed 550,000 units, creating a surge in demand for high-quality, fully equipped data centers.

Key Industry Drivers:

  • The IT load capacity in Australia is set to surpass 3,000 MW by 2029, further boosting the need for data center racks.
  • The construction of raised floor areas for data centers is expected to cover 11.4 million sq. ft by 2029, requiring innovative rack solutions.
  • The development of submarine cable projects, including the Asia Connect Cable-1 (ACC-1) starting in 2025, will enhance data connectivity, intensifying the need for secure, high-performance server racks and network cabinets.

4Cabling’s latest product line includes quarter racks, half racks, and full racks, catering to various industries including IT & telecommunications, BFSI, government, media, and entertainment.

With limited physical space becoming a key challenge for businesses, full racks currently dominate the market. 4Cabling says a server rack should be designed to optimise space while accommodating the growth in IT infrastructure.

“As Australia’s data center needs continue to evolve, 4Cabling is committed to providing top-tier server racks and network cabinets that support industry growth and technological innovation,” said 4Cabling Chief Executive Officer Chitrang Trivedi.

“Our products are engineered to meet the demands of modern data centers, offering flexible and scalable solutions for businesses of all sizes.” he said.

Australia Data Center Rack Market Poised for Significant Growth

The Australian data center rack market is set for substantial expansion, driven by the increasing demand for IT infrastructure and services.

As the country enhances its telecommunications capabilities, particularly with the rollout of 5G, the need for robust data center solutions is becoming increasingly pronounced.

This market is witnessing a notable shift toward fully configured data centers, which are essential for managing the growing volume of data generated by sectors such as telecommunications, media, and entertainment.

As businesses seek to optimise their operations in this data-driven landscape, the demand for high-quality server racks and data center solutions will continue to rise.

Major players like Telstra, Optus, and TPG are also actively enhancing their infrastructure to support cutting-edge 5G services, indicating a robust shift towards advanced connectivity solutions.

Additionally, the construction of new data centers, including NEXTDC’s latest facility in Adelaide, highlights the surging demand for high-capacity racks essential for cloud computing and big data analytics.

The growth of the data center rack market not only underscores the increasing reliance on data infrastructure but also positions Australia as a leader in technological advancement.

Meanwhile, 4Cabling recently acquired 4LAN, a company renowned for its expertise in data, fibre connectivity, and server rack solutions.

The acquisition expands 4Cabling’s range of products and services, allowing it to better serve the growing demands of Australia’s data center and telecommunications sectors.

Trivedi expressed his enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating,”We are thrilled to welcome 4LAN into the 4Cabling family.

“Their exceptional reputation and extensive expertise in data, fibre connectivity and server rack solutions perfectly complement our vision and goals,” Trivedi said.

“The acquisition not only strengthens our product portfolio but also reinforces our commitment to delivering innovative and reliable solutions to our 150,000+ strong customer base,” he said.
