Victoria University will host Australia’s first ‘SAP Academy’, training and certifying students in SAP technologies.

The university said that the academy would be located at its new VU City Tower in the Melbourne CBD, which consolidates previous city campuses into a single location.

VU Vice Chancellor Professor Adam Shoemaker said the university is “a partner institution” of SAP, with which it has a “23-year” relationship.

“By partnering with world-leading organizations like SAP, we enrich our educational offering and provide learners with better career and career opportunities,” said Shoemaker.

“We are excited that SAP has selected VU to deliver this globally recognized program.”

“By collaborating with world-leading organisations like SAP, we enrich our educational offering and provide greater career and professional opportunities for learners,” Shoemaker said.

Damien Bueno, SAP’s President and Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand, said the agreement provides a “personal learning environment” in which to pursue SAP certification.

“Our vision is that SAP Academy will be used by our customers and our partners to meet their training needs and build the skills they need to be successful now and in the future,” said Bueno.

The new academy will offer classes in established and emerging technologies, like SAP S/4HANA® and SAP Analytics Cloud, with successful participants receiving SAP’s globally recognised software certifications.

VU’s current SAP Next Gen-Lab, launched in 2018, will move into the VU City Tower and complement the new SAP Academy. The SAP Next Gen-Lab will continue to develop the skills of Masters students, not only technically, but the soft skills required by industry.

VU also manages the Asia-Pacific-Japan region’s only Academic Competence Centre, which exclusively provides SAP® software to universities, under the SAP University Alliances program.

Due to open in early 2022, the VU City Tower is situated in the heart of Melbourne’s legal and corporate district and will feature the latest technology in learning and teaching. VU City Tower brings together TAFE and Higher Education opportunities for a new generation of students.
