Focus on growth sees outgoing CEO, Thor Essman, appointed Chairman of the Board

Versent, has today announced the appointment of Paul Migliorini, as CEO, with founder and outgoing CEO, Thor Essman, moving to Chairman of the Versent Group Board of Directors.

The leadership transition will commence immediately and is part of a strategy to support the company’s rapid expansion and growth plans across ANZ and the Asia Pacific region.

Migliorini was appointed as a Non-Executive Director to the Versent Group Board of Directors in October 2020 and, prior to that, was Managing Director of Amazon Web Services ANZ and APJ where he spent five years growing the largest cloud business in ANZ, with more than 100,000 customers.

“Paul and I have been working together closely over the past year to set the direction of this company and to help evolve it to where it is today,” says Essman.

“Paul and I share common values and a common vision, as well as a belligerent commitment to customer success.  Paul’s extensive experience in building technology scale-ups is vital to the next stage of Versent’s growth,”

“Therefore it is with great pride and excitement that I pass the baton to Paul to carry on the next stage of Versent growth, and look forward to teaming with him and seeing just how far we can take this revolution together. ”

“I am humbled to receive this appointment to company CEO with full support from the Board,” says incoming CEO, Migliorini.

“It has been a privilege to work alongside Thor, the Versent board and our team over the past year to build this strong foundation upon which we will further accelerate our growth and impact for customers.”

“Versent was founded on the principles of earning customer trust through a deep investment in engineering excellence, an awesome culture and a strong commitment to long term customer success – ‘done done’.

“Today the team has grown to over 500 of the very best diverse talent delivering amazing customer outcomes across ANZ and South East Asia.”

“I am deeply excited to join this exceptional team as we look to build the world’s best customer technology partner. I know this will be guided by the same principles that helped us build the Versent we are today.”

Prior to his role at AWS, Migliorini was the CEO of IWG (formerly Regus) for ANZ where he developed and ran a portfolio of more than 80 workspaces across the region.

Other roles have included Managing Director at BT (ANZ and ASEAN) and leadership roles at Motorola and Ernst & Young in Australia and across Asia.
