OneAdvanced has partnered with Tasmanian Freight Services Pty Ltd (Tasfreight), one of Australia’s major logistics and transport operators, to overhaul the company’s workforce management, rostering and payroll systems.
The upgrade replaces long-standing paper-based processes with a unified digital platform designed to deliver real-time visibility, greater accuracy and faster workflow execution across operations in five states.
Founded in Devonport in 1984 to provide fast freight links between Tasmania and Melbourne, Tasfreight has grown into a high-volume national operator covering linehaul, warehousing, last-mile delivery and customer service. The company now employs over 200 staff and more than 40 subcontractors.
Before the transition, Tasfreight relied heavily on paper forms, faxed documents and email chains to assign jobs, verify hours and manage rosters.
As the business expanded nationwide, these manual processes increasingly caused bottlenecks, inconsistent information and unnecessary administrative load — prompting the shift to a modern, integrated digital solution.
According to Stuart Nicholls, company secretary at Tasfreight, the shift to a digital workforce management system was essential as the company continued to scale.
“We had reached a point where paper-based workflows were slowing down the business. Staff would have to fax or email job sheets and timesheets across different depots, which made it harder to maintain accuracy, keep everyone updated and respond quickly to customer needs,”
“Moving to the OneAdvanced workforce management platform, Time and Attendance, means we now have everything in one place, automated and accessible in real time. It gives us the visibility we need to run a modern logistics operation,” said Stuart Nicholls.
The company’s national footprint also made rostering increasingly complex. Managing coverage across multiple sites, shifts and skill sets required hours of manual work for supervisors each week.

Malcolm Dart, operations manager at Tasfreight, said,“ The OneAdvanced workforce management system has transformed how the business manages rostering of jobs.
“Previously, rosters were worked out at an individual level, which was time-consuming and error-prone because everything was done manually,” said Dart
“It is now generated at the touch of a button. Our teams can see their shifts instantly, managers can make rapid adjustments and we can allocate resources far more efficiently, which has totally changed the way we operate.” he said.
The digital transformation is part of Tasfreight’s wider strategy to improve operational consistency, strengthen compliance and equip its workforce with tools that support growth.
Adam Bowles, Australian country director at OneAdvanced, said, “Tasfreight plays a critical role in keeping goods moving across Australia and we are thrilled to partner with a business that is so focused on innovation and service quality,”
“By moving from manual systems to an integrated digital workforce management platform, Tasfreight is reducing administrative load, improving compliance and giving its teams the information they need to make better decisions.”
