In the healthcare sector, technology failures are more than a productivity concern, with the potential to cause delays that could jeopardise lives.
To address the risk of downtime to mission-critical devices, SOTI unveiled a range of enhancements to its market-leading SOTI ONE Platform.
This includes the launch of Stella, an AI-powered assistant designed to enhance operational efficiency in healthcare environments, reduce device downtime and accelerate patient response times through intelligent automation.
Legacy Infrastructure Hampers Digital Transformation in Healthcare
SOTI’s latest innovations respond directly to the growing technological challenges in healthcare, as detailed in SOTI’s industry report, Healthcare’s Digital Dilemma: Calculated Risks and Hidden Challenges Exposed.
The global survey found that 99% of IT leaders in Australia (97% globally) still rely on legacy systems.
Although 99% of respondents in Australia report using connected devices or telehealth technologies within their organisations, 77% in Australia (65% globally) operate them on outdated, non-integrated systems.
In addition, 43% of Australian respondents (38% globally) say they are unable to deploy or manage new mobile devices and printers, and 43% (38% globally) say remote support is often not possible—preventing real-time diagnostics or device management.
Moreover, 39% in both Australia and globally report excessive time spent on incident resolution. A further 53% in Australia express concerns about security vulnerabilities tied to legacy infrastructure compared to 45% globally.
Alarmingly, 43% of Australian respondents (39% globally) experienced a ransomware or DDoS attack since 2023, with 35% in Australia (30% globally) citing data security as the top IT concern in their organisation.
“Healthcare organisations are under immense pressure to innovate, yet legacy infrastructure continues to hold them back. Reliance on outdated, non-integrated systems not only slows digital transformation but also heightens vulnerability to cyber threats,” said Michael Dyson, VP of Sales, APAC at SOTI.
“At SOTI SYNC, we’re showcasing our latest innovations designed to tackle these critical challenges. Our goal is to empower healthcare organisations to focus on what matters most: supporting their staff and delivering effective patient care.”
Stella: AI-Powered Assistant Delivers Conversational IT Support
Built into SOTI MobiControl and SOTI XSight, Stella enables IT administrators to troubleshoot and easily access key information about their devices in healthcare environments through simple conversations and voice commands.
Leveraging device data, diagnostic insights and the full SOTI Pulse library, Stella is designed to deliver real-time, reliable responses that enable faster, more informed decision-making in mission-critical environments like healthcare.
Enhanced Analytics and Real-Time Visibility for Healthcare
New analytics tools in SOTI XSight deliver holistic visibility into device usage, access and performance. Features, such as Live View*, automated alerts, battery and network analytics, and remote support via chat, voice and video, minimise inefficiencies and downtime in a sector where every second is critical.
This enables healthcare IT teams to proactively identify vulnerabilities, adhere to compliance requirements and maintain productive digital environments.
Supporting Security and Compliance in a Changing Policy Landscape
With legislation changes set to make sharing key health information to My Health Record mandatory, and $228.7 million allocated in the 2025–2026 budget for digital health, Australian healthcare providers face growing pressure to ensure their systems can support innovation and deliver secure, timely access to patient data.
SOTI is helping providers meet this challenge through the SOTI ONE Platform, which includes a new suite of advanced security features, providing enhanced levels of mobile endpoint protection.
Traditional lockdown tools often require coding or pixel-level design, making them difficult for many IT teams to deploy effectively. With SOTI MobiControl and SOTI Snap, organisations can now create and roll out custom lockdown experiences without complexity.
Devices can be restricted to specific apps and content based on department, user role or use case. Enrolment via SOTI Identity is streamlined and secured through QR code or NFC.
If a device leaves a secure perimeter or loses its connection to SOTI MobiControl, it is automatically locked to prevent unauthorised access.
These enhancements are complemented by new analytics tools in SOTI XSight that provide full visibility into device usage, access and performance. This enables IT teams to proactively identify vulnerabilities, help support compliance requirements and maintain productive digital environments.
A Secure Digital Foundation for the Future of Patient Care
“The future of healthcare relies on secure, reliable and intelligent technology. With the latest advancements to the SOTI ONE Platform,” said Dyson
“We’re helping healthcare organisations streamline operations, improve device visibility and ensure critical tools are always available when needed. By removing technology barriers, we also enable healthcare workers to stay connected,” he said.
