AWS premier consulting partner CMD Solutions has completed a redesign of insurance company Open’s IT infrastructure to ensure the company is positioned for growth.
Open provides embedded insurance products and services for some of the biggest brands across Australia, New Zealand and the UK, including Bupa, ahm, Polestar, Slingshot, Loans.com.au and Telstra.
Its products are available either white labelled or through Huddle Insurance and use artificial intelligence and data science to give customers more competitive prices.
Open has been growing at a rapid rate since its inception in 2016 and found its traditional approach to cloud technology was not meeting the needs of the business.
The business turned to CMD Solutions to identify and re-architecture their infrastructure and application tier through the CMD Solutions Managed DevOps as a Service.
Following an initial assessment of the Open environment, a detailed network design was designed and implemented by CMD Solutions, leveraging automation and infrastructure as Code (AWS Cloud Development Kit).

The solution provided by CMD Solutions Managed Services has decoupled the data from the application tier, ensuring improved scaling and throughput whilst bolstering security across the platform.
It has also reduced risk and strengthened developer experience through repeatable processes and automation. CMD Solutions will also provide ongoing Managed Services to Open.
