Ten years ago, a small team of entrepreneurs in Camberwell set out to solve a simple but significant problem: businesses wanted to pay suppliers by credit card, yet most suppliers wouldn’t accept them.

That challenge led to the creation of Payment Logic Group, Australia’s first Bill Payments Service Platform (BPSP), which now processes over $7 billion in payments annually and serves tens of thousands of businesses nationwide.

“From day one, we wanted to create a solution that made payments simpler, faster, and more rewarding for businesses,” says Sam Plowman, Co-CEO.

“Running a business is hard, and our platform was designed to make payments easier and more secure, while delivering tangible benefits like reward points.” he said.

Payment Logic Group began by facilitating payments via American Express, but it has since expanded to Visa, Mastercard, and Bank Transfer.

Its platform is now used for supplier payments, payroll, ATO obligations and credit card settlements, all secured through Level 1 PCI-compliant encryption and card tokenisation.

Businesses enter their financial information once, and the platform handles hundreds of transactions in seconds, reducing operational time and risk.

Partnerships Instrumental In Growth.

Collaborations with American Express, Visa, Mastercard, Cuscal, and loyalty programs such as Qantas Business Rewards, Velocity Frequent Flyer, Virgin Australia Business Flyer, and Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer have allowed businesses to earn points while managing payments efficiently.

To help clients maximize rewards, Payment Logic recently launched Rewards Accelerator, which offers eight tiers for customised point-earning opportunities, allowing businesses to earn up to 10 points per $1.

Plowman says the company’s independence has been a defining strength so far, but further expansion is on the horizon.

“Unlike most fintechs, we have remained self-funded and independent throughout our development. Now, we are looking ahead and inviting investment to expand our offering and build new strategic partnerships in Australia and overseas.” said Plowman

Co-CEO and co-founder Mark Nimco says that security remains at the core of the business. “Companies can be processing hundreds of invoices monthly,”

“With Payment Logic, those payments are encrypted, PCI-compliant, and tokenised, so clients never have to repeatedly share sensitive card details,”

“We also conduct external audits and penetration tests twice a year to ensure our systems remain robust.” said Nimco

Since its launch, Payment Logic has maintained a customer-focused, agile approach to product development. Weekly live releases, constant review of usage data, and ongoing customer feedback have ensured the platform remains intuitive and highly functional.

Building on its success so far, Payment Logic Group is preparing for its next phase: scaling technology, exploring further strategic partnerships, and attracting investors to join its journey.

With a decade of innovation behind it, the company continues to set the standard for secure, rewarding, and efficient B2B payments in Australia.

About Payment Logic Group

Payment Logic Group is made up of two payment platform companies, Payment Logic and Yak Pay. Founded in 2013, Payment Logic is the original platform and both companies are at the forefront of revolutionising credit card acceptance and business payment challenges in Australia
